I HAVE SUBMITTED MY ONLINE REGISTRATION AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY CONFIRMATION. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?

The reservation service will send you a confirmation within 7 days after your online registration. If you have not received your confirmation after this period, please do not hesitate to contact us.

ONCE MY CURE IS BOOKED, CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN TREATMENT TIMES?

You can express your preferred time slot during the booking process. Depending on the number of visitors and the remaining availability at the time of scheduling, we will do our best to accommodate your request. The treatment start time will be sent to all guests 15 days before the first day of the cure. The schedule may vary from week to week. Thank you for your understanding.

CAN I DO A CURE IN MULTIPLE TIMES? 

A conventioned thermal cure is done in one go, for 18 consecutive days of treatment, including public holidays.

CAN I DO MULTIPLE THERMAL CURES IN THE SAME YEAR? 

Only one conventioned thermal cure is granted per calendar year, with the exception of special cases such as severe burns. More information on Ameli.fr However, it is possible to do multiple non-conventioned cures in a year at your own expense.

WHEN SHOULD I DO MY THERMAL CURE? 

You can choose your cure dates based on the opening dates of the services and your accommodation dates. You can start your cure on any day of the week (except for special cures and programs). The treatments start from the chosen first day and are provided from Monday to Saturday, including public holidays. Please note that the coverage provided by health insurance funds has different validity periods depending on the date of document issuance:
Issued before 1/10/23: NOT valid for the year 2024,
Issued between 01/10/2023 and 30/11/2023: valid until 31/03/2024 inclusive,
Issued in December 2023: valid for the entire year 2024.

HOW CAN I FIND ACCOMMODATION FOR MY CURE? 

The priority is to book your accommodation in the thermal resort. The village of Saint-Gervais (850m altitude) is located 5 minutes by car from the thermal center in Le Fayet (560m altitude). It is possible to walk from Saint-Gervais, which takes about 30 minutes with a 300-meter elevation gain. Good walking shoes are recommended. Soon, an elevator will be available to reach both levels in a 5-minute walk.
If you want to be closer to the thermal baths and easily access them on foot, we recommend booking accommodation in Le Fayet. This way, you can easily reach the thermal baths by crossing our beautiful thermal park.

FINDING ACCOMMODATION

HAS MY THERMAL CURE BEEN PRESCRIBED WITH HOSPITALIZATION, IS IT POSSIBLE AT THE THERMES DE SAINT GERVAIS?

Yes, it is possible! If the cure is prescribed with hospitalization, we invite you to contact the NOIRET/SANCELLEMOZ Clinic in Cluses at 04 50 78 72 04 as a priority to inquire about their terms and availability for accommodation.
They organize the transportation between the clinic and the thermal center.

ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR UNDERGOING A THERMAL CURE?

There are no specific contraindications. Please do not hesitate to contact the thermal center for more information.

FROM WHAT AGE ARE CHILDREN WELCOMED AT THE THERMAL CENTER?

Children are welcomed from the age of 3 months for dermatology cures and from 3 years old for respiratory/ORL cures and oral mucosal conditions or dual orientation cures.
Any minor under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult during treatments.

 

HOW TO CHOOSE A THERMAL CENTER?

The choice of the thermal center will be made in consultation with the prescribing doctor. You should choose the center that best suits the condition you wish to treat.
All Thermal Waters have different virtues and varying effectiveness depending on the conditions.

 

ARE THE THERMES OPEN ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS?

Treatments are provided from Monday to Saturday morning, including public holidays, according to the opening dates of the medical services.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONVENTIONNED CURE AND A HEALTHCARE PROGRAM?

A conventioned thermal cure is prescribed by a doctor and lasts for 18 consecutive days of mandatory treatment. It is covered by your health insurance organization.

A Healthcare Program does not require a medical prescription and can last between 6 and 18 days of treatment at your convenience. It is not covered by health insurance organizations.

CAN I COME FOR A CURE IF I AM PREGNANT?

There is no contraindication to coming for a cure. Please inform the reception during the reservation or upon arrival to plan any necessary adaptations to the treatments if needed.
We recommend consulting your treating physician or midwife beforehand to ensure that your health condition is compatible with undergoing a thermal cure.

 

I AM A FOREIGNER, I DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE IN FRANCE, CAN I DO A THERMAL CURE AT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT?

Thermal cures are open to everyone.

- You are a citizen of the European Union

You can request European coverage "FORM S2" through the health insurance of your country of residence. More information on the website: https://www.cleiss.fr/reglements/s2.html
The thermal cure will then be conventioned for a duration of 18 consecutive days (excluding Sundays, but including public holidays).
The coverage by the French health insurance will be at a rate of 65%. You will pay the difference to the thermal establishment. A receipted invoice will be provided at the end of the cure for your supplementary health insurance.

- You are outside the European Union

You can do a healthcare program at your own expense for a duration of 6 to 18 days.

 

CAN MY CURE BE REIMBURSED BY MY SOCIAL SECURITY ORGANIZATION?

For a thermal cure to be covered by health insurance, it must be prescribed by a physician or a specialist. Your organization will provide you with an administrative coverage agreement consisting of several parts.
The reimbursement rates vary between 65% and 100% for individuals with Long-Term Illness or Work-Related Accidents.
If you have the Complémentaire Santé Solidaire, a valid certificate will be required upon arrival to exempt you from advance payment.

Cures below 18 days are not eligible for reimbursement.

 

WHAT SHOULD BRING?

Each day of the dermatology cure, the thermal center will provide the patient with 1 bathrobe and 1 towel to be returned at the end of the daily treatments.

In your cure bag, please include, in addition to your treatment schedule, according to your cure orientation:
- One or two swimsuits (note that the swimsuit should not cover skin lesions)
- A bag for wet laundry
- A pair of non-slip slippers (available for purchase at the reception)
- A cup for drinking the thermal water (according to the prescription, available for purchase at the reception)

The Respiratory/ENT/ Oral Mucosal thermal cures does not require specific clothing.
Each day of the cure, we will provide a towel to be returned at the end of the daily treatments.

In your cure bag, please include, in addition to your treatment schedule:
- A cup for drinking the thermal water
- The necessary ORL equipment for treatments (sold at the reception for first-time cures)
- Tissues

We kindly ask you to bring a minimum of personal belongings with you. Please leave jewelry and watches at home. Mobile phones and other tablets are not allowed in the treatment areas. You can consult the internal regulations on our website."

 

Rules and regulations

I ALREADY HAVE equipment FROM A PREVIOUS CURE?

If you have ENT equipment from a previous treatment or from another establishment, you can bring it with you. We will check its compatibility with our facilities. If it is not compatible, the necessary equipment will be sold to you upon arrival. Rental is not available.

SHOULD I BRING A BATHROBE?

For dermatology thermal treatments or the thermal spa, a bathrobe and a small towel are provided by the establishment.

Accompanying adults of child patients or individuals with reduced mobility (PMR) must bring their own bathrobe.

The establishment offers rental services for accompanying adults for dermatology thermal treatments. For more information, please ask the reception.

CAN I GO ALONG WITH MY CHILD THROUGH THERMAL TREATMENT?

In dermatology, the 12-year-old patient must be accompanied by only one adult in the treatment area. Only the child patient receives the treatments!
The accompanying adult must have their own bathrobe (no large towel or pareo) and a pair of slippers.
Don't have a bathrobe? Consider renting one to avoid any concerns about washing or drying. A bathrobe will be provided to you along with your child's.

In respiratory/ENT or AMB treatments, the patient under 10 years old must be accompanied by only one adult. Only the child patient receives the treatments.

For all orientations, a parent must be present during medical consultations.
Since accompaniment is mandatory, there will be no additional cost to the thermal package (except for bathrobe rental).
The accompanying adult can be changed during the treatment, as long as they are known to the child patient.

CAN I GO ALONG WITH A REDUCED MOBILITY CURIST?

For individuals with reduced mobility or disabilities, please inform the reception of your thermal treatment facility as soon as possible to prepare for your arrival under the best conditions. The thermal establishment has dedicated parking spaces, wheelchair-accessible elevators, treatment cabins for individuals with reduced mobility, and patient lifts.

In the event that the patient is not able to independently receive the treatments, they must be accompanied during their treatment. No personnel are provided for accompaniment.

In the dermatology department, the accompanying adult must have their own bathrobe (no large towel or pareo) and a pair of slippers.

You don't have a bathrobe? Consider renting one to avoid any concerns about washing or drying. A bathrobe will be provided to you along with the patient's.

WHICH DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO BRING?

We kindly ask you to bring the following items with you:

Your printed acceptance of coverage document provided by your health insurance organization.
Your valid printed Complémentaire Santé Solidaire certificate, if you have one.
Your up-to-date health insurance card (carte vitale).
If you wish, you can also bring a medical report from your prescribing doctor summarizing your medical condition.

CAN I STOP THE THERMAL TREATMENT?

The normal duration of a thermal treatment is 18 days. Your treatment may be interrupted for various reasons, but only 3 circumstances will be eligible for reimbursement by the Health Insurance, proportional to the duration of the completed treatment:

In case of force majeure (such as a death in your family, for example);
In case of suspension of the thermal establishment's activity;
If your treatment is interrupted for medical reasons (which must be attested by a medical certificate). A treatment interrupted for any other reason will not be covered by the Health Insurance.

ARE TREATMENTS PROVIDED IN INDIVIDUAL CABINS?

Thermal treatments are provided in cabins or individual rooms.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE THERMAL CENTER?

15 days before your arrival, you will receive a letter/email announcing your treatment schedule. 
We ask guests to arrive 15 minutes before their treatment time.

AFTER YOUR ARRIVAL

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON MY FIRST DAY OF DERMATOLOGY TREATMENT?

15 minutes before your scheduled treatment time, which will be communicated to you 2 weeks prior to your arrival, you should present yourself at the reception of the thermal facility.

You will need to present the administrative coverage documents to the thermal establishment in order to benefit from the exemption of upfront payment, based on your coverage rate by your health insurance fund. If you are a holder of the CSS (Complémentaire Santé Solidaire), a certificate of entitlement to CSS, dated within 3 months of the first day of the treatment, must be provided in paper format.

We will provide you with your treatment schedule for your stay, the list of your treatments, and your appointment time with the thermal doctor.

You will go to the first floor of the "cure" area for the distribution of linen. You will be given a bathrobe and a towel.

Your morning of treatments will begin with the filiform shower, which is the treatment prescribed by your thermal doctor. The other treatments will follow.

Once these are completed, you can get dressed to attend the initial medical consultation.

After the consultation is finished, we will meet again the next day for your treatment time.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON MY FIRST DAY OF ENT TREATMENT?

30 minutes before your scheduled treatment time, which will be communicated to you 2 weeks prior to your arrival, you should present yourself at the reception of the thermal facility.

You will need to present the administrative coverage documents to the thermal establishment in order to benefit from the exemption of upfront payment, based on your coverage rate by your health insurance fund. If you are a holder of the CSS (Complémentaire Santé Solidaire), a certificate of entitlement to CSS, dated within 3 months of the first day of the treatment, must be provided in paper format.

We will provide you with your treatment schedule for your stay, including the timings of the thermal treatments and the day of the administrative appointment with the reception.

You will then go to the ENT secretary who will provide you with the list of your treatments and the various appointments with the doctor.

Your morning will begin with the initial medical consultation followed by your thermal treatments. For the treatments, the thermal staff will provide you with a linen that needs to be returned to us at the end of the treatments.

For new patients, in addition to the linen, we will provide you with the necessary equipment for the treatments. This will be settled during your administrative appointment with the reception. If you already have equipment from a previous thermal treatment or from another thermal establishment, we will check its condition and compatibility with our facilities. If necessary, we will provide you with any missing items, which will be settled during the administrative appointment.

Once the thermal treatments are completed, we will see you the next day!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON MY FIRST DAY OF DOUBLE-ORIENTATION THERMAL TREATMENT?

30 minutes before your scheduled treatment time, which will be communicated to you 2 weeks prior to your arrival, you should present yourself at the reception of the thermal facility.

You will need to present the administrative coverage documents to the thermal establishment in order to benefit from the exemption of upfront payment, based on your coverage rate by your health insurance fund. If you are a holder of the CSS (Complémentaire Santé Solidaire), a certificate of entitlement to CSS, dated within 3 months of the first day of the treatment, must be provided in paper format.

We will provide you with your treatment schedule for your stay, including the timings of the thermal treatments and the day of the administrative appointment with the reception.

Depending on the orientation planning, you will be directed to either the Dermatology department or the Respiratory/ENT/AMB department.

HOW LONG DO THERMAL TREATMENTS LAST?

Thermal treatments take place in the morning only. 
Average length of treatment depending on the cure:

Dermatology: 1h30 to 2h 

Respiratory tract / ENT / AMB: 1h to 1h30 

Double orientation: 3h to 3h30

DO YOU NEED TO SEE THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST?

The physiotherapy sessions are complementary to your thermal treatment. If you require scar tissue treatment, underwater massages, respiratory physiotherapy, a medical prescription from your doctor will be mandatory. The thermal doctor will be able to provide this prescription only during your first treatment at the Thermes de Saint Gervais. From the second treatment onwards, please remember to bring a prescription from your doctor.

WHAT IS THE ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENT FOR?

The treatment schedule provided on the first day of your treatment includes an administrative appointment, during which we will complete your file together. Depending on your level of coverage with your health insurance, you will owe any remaining out-of-pocket expenses and other additional fees. An itemized invoice will be provided to you at the end of your treatment for submission to your supplementary insurance.

To inquire about your out-of-pocket expenses, you can send a request by email/mail, providing us with your coverage documents.

100% COVERAGE, WILL I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING?

If you have a long-term illness or if you have suffered a work-related accident or occupational disease, some expenses related to your treatment may be covered at 100%. The coverage of your treatment is exempt from the co-payment if it is related to a long-term illness (ALD). However, your health insurance fund will not reimburse you for comfort treatments.

Since March 1, 2014, a variable additional fee must be paid to the thermal establishment in addition to the thermal package, regardless of your administrative situation (ALD, work-related accident, etc.). This additional fee cannot exceed a conventionally regulated limit price. Your health insurance may potentially cover the additional fee.

WHEN DO I PAY FOR THE CURE?

During the administrative appointment, scheduled in the first week, you will be required to settle the payment for your thermal treatment.

For conventioned treatments, depending on your level of coverage with your health insurance, we will inform you of any remaining out-of-pocket expenses and other additional fees (such as the purchase of slippers, ENT treatment materials, bathrobe rental, etc.).

An itemized invoice will be provided to you at the end of your treatment for submission to your supplementary insurance.

THE PERSON ACCOMPANYING ME WANTS TO SEE WHAT I DO EVERY MORNING IN DERMATOLOGY, CAN I BRING HIM/HER ALONG ONCE?

The Discovery Morning of Dermatology Thermal Treatment

You can bring your spouse, child, parent, or friend to experience a morning of thermal treatments with you.

From February 5th to November 23rd, 2024 (excluding the summer period from July 15th to August 20th, and only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), you can access the dermatology treatment during a morning session and enjoy the benefits of pure thermal water.

They will receive 3 treatments: General Spray: 15 minutes TREATMENT: Pure thermal water is finely sprayed all over the body. BENEFITS: This treatment enhances the decongestant, anti-itch, and relaxing effects of the thermal water.

Facial Spray: 10 to 15 minutes TREATMENT: A mist of pure thermal water is sprayed on the face. BENEFITS: This treatment promotes skin healing and soothing.

Full Bath: 15 minutes TREATMENT: Immersion in an individual cabin filled with pure thermal water. BENEFITS: This bath helps soothe, dry (itchiness), and heal your skin. The warmth of the water activates skin circulation. It is also relaxing and relieves tension.

You can choose a time slot from Wednesday to Saturday between 8:30 am and 10:00 am, by reservation at the reception, for €39 per person.

The Discovery Morning of ENTThermal Treatment

You can bring your spouse, child, parent, or friend to experience a morning of thermal treatments with you.

From April 1st to October 5th, 2024 (excluding the summer period from July 15th to August 20th, and only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), you can access the ENT treatment during a morning session and enjoy the benefits of pure thermal water.

They will receive 4 treatments:

DRINKING CURE

BENEFITS You'll benefit from the anti-inflammatory properties of thermal spring water from the inside out, revitalising your body.

NASAL SHOWER

10 minutes
TREATMENT Pressurised care decongests the respiratory mucosa.

TREATMENT Gently irrigates the nasal cavities.
BENEFITS Respiratory capacity can be significantly improved.

THROAT SPRAY

10 minutes
TREATMENT in the mouth with a filiform jet of thermal water broken by a sieve to bathe the throat, tonsils and pharynx.
BENEFITS Regeneration of the pharyngeal mucosa.
