PATHOLOGY
For children and adults, eczema is an inflammatory skin condition that Saint-Gervais thermal spring has the power to alleviate. The dermatological cure is available from the age of 3 months. The cure is effective in treating eczema in children and adolescents. It is particularly suitable and effective for treating atopic dermatitis in babies aged 6 months and over.
Eczema is an inflammatory skin condition.
The most common form is atopic dermatitis. Atopic dermatitis mainly affects children.
It starts very early in life (usually from the age of 3 months) and is then known as infantile eczema. It develops in flares in babies and children and usually resolves before puberty, but can persist into adulthood.
Eczema lesions are mainly found on the face, such as the forehead, cheeks and chin in babies, and in skin folds in older children: elbow folds, knee folds, ears....
Our teams are trained and attentive to the well-being of children, whose treatments are carried out in individual cabins.
Parents take part in their child's treatment by accompanying them to their daily treatments.
WHEN TO COME?
The dermatological cure at Thermes de Saint-Gervais is open from February to November.
It is open from the age of 3 months, whether you are experiencing a crisis or not.
ECZEMA
THERMAL TREATMENTS
Treatments are given every morning for 18 consecutive days, Monday to Saturday, and last approximately 1.5 hours each day. Sunday is a day of rest. During your first consultation, your doctor will draw up a treatment plan, which will include the treatments to be carried out during your 18-day stay.
All treatments are carried out using 100% thermal spring water to ensure the highest quality.
Treatments prescribed by the doctor and carried out daily:
THERMAL WATER DRINK CURE: you will benefit from the anti-inflammatory properties of thermal water from the inside out, revitalising your body.
FILIFORM SHOWER 1 to 3 minutes: this high-pressure shower is performed by the thermal doctor. It deeply restructures, softens the skin and soothes itching.
GENERAL BATH 15 minutes: The bath has a soothing, drying and healing effect. The warmth of the water stimulates the skin's circulation. It has a relaxing effect, especially for people with stiff joints.
GENERAL SPRAY 15 minutes: Finely sprayed water drains the skin.
These four treatments are prescribed for each patient depending on the severity of the pathology and the patient's needs. The doctor may also prescribe a facial spray and local baths.
COMPLEMENTARY TREATMENTS
CEPHALIQUE SHOWER Thermal water trickles over the scalp. The effects of the water soothe and heal the skin.
LOCAL BATH 10 to 15 minutes: For hands and/or legs. This treatment enhances the decongestant, anti-itch and relaxing effects of the thermal water.
FACE SPRAY 10 to 15 minutes: A mist of thermal water is sprayed on the face.
